Goal

The Utrecht Ombuds Desk processes personal data, in order to be able to contact residents who ask for our advice. We want to help residents, by providing the best service. The Utrecht Ombuds Desk does this by listening, informing, referring and advising. We also process personal data for our business operations, for example when you apply for a job with us or request us for an internship.

Legal reason

We only process personal data if we have been given permission to do so, from the residents who contacted the Utrecht Ombuds Desk.

What data do we process?

Your data will only be used to contact you in response to your question or comment. Your first and last name Your address details Your telephone number / your e-mail address.

Who is responsible for the processing of personal data?

The college of mayor and aldermen of the municipality of Utrecht.

Location

We process data within the Netherlands and do not pass it on outside the European Union or to international organisations.

Retention period

All data shared with the Utrecht Ombuds Desk is kept for 10 years on the basis of the Archives Act. Reports that are not processed are registered without personal data.

Your rights. If you have shared personal data with the Utrecht Ombuds Desk

Right of access: you have the right to view the personal data you have shared with the Utrecht Ombuds Desk. Right to rectification: you have the right to supplement, correct, delete or block the personal data whenever you wish. Right to object: you can object to the data processing. You can also submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. However, we would appreciate it if you would first send the complaint to the Data Protection Officer. Access to data

In principle, your data will not be shared with third parties. Only with your permission can the Utrecht Ombuds Desk share your data with, for example, the National Ombudsman or a department within the municipality of Utrecht.
