For all young people in Utrecht

We want every child in Utrecht to feel safe and happy. If you are concerned about something in your neighborhood or at school, we think it is important that you are listened to. That is why there is the Children’s Ombuds Desk for children and young people who live in the city of Utrecht. We will help you with your complaint about the municipality. If, for some reason, we are not able to help you with your complaint, we will always explain why.

We are there for you

Jory Hoogendam is responsible for the Children’s Ombuds desk. She will listen to your story or complaint about the municipality, school or youth services.

‘Please come by and let us know what your concerns are’, says Jory: ‘It can be anything; maybe there is no place where you can play football nearby. Or maybe you have a problem with youth care or at school? We are happy to think along with you.’

Empowerment

Jory says: ‘I find it important that children will learn that they can always ask for help, and that they are able to make a change themselves. I believe in empowerment. I want to pass that on to youth.’

The ombudsteam also finds it very important that attention is paid to children’s rights in policy of the city.
